Any doubt that this may be the best new rivalry in the NBA was cast aside on Wednesday as the Lakers beat the Clippers 96-91.
Six technicals, one flagrant foul and an ejection highlighted the testy affair that also saw Pau Gasol and Chris Paul tangle at the end of the game. Blake Griffin led all scorers with 26 points for the Clippers and received able support from Caron Butler and Mo Williams the latter who came off the bench to drop in 16 points. However Kobe Bryant, Gasol and Andrew Bynum were a combined 22-of-41 to lead the Lakers to the win.
