Magilton still optimistic

As a result of Saturday's 0-0 derby stalemate, Melbourne Victory still haven't managed to register a win under Jim Magilton, but their new manager believes the level of their performances is starting to go up.
The 2011/12 A-League season has been a thing to forget for the Victory faithful so far. They have won only four times and have collected just 22 points from 20 league games.
They have also had to deal with a lot of internal rifts and drama, which was in addition to the departure of their former manager Mehmet Durakovic. But Magilton is still confident that his team can still turn their season around.

I know where I want to take the team and I know how I want to get there but (it's a case of) small building blocks and foundations have to be right and then we build on that

Melbourne Victory are 2.40 to defeat Central Coast Mariners, who themselves are 2.80 for the win. A draw between the two sides can be backed at 3.40.
Speaking in a recent interview, Magilton said, "...we're getting there, I firmly believe we're getting there, and regardless (of) what it looks to you guys (the media), to me I can see changes and I can see positivity and I can see things are going to change, I really do and as I say we're going to build on today."
"I know where I want to take the team and I know how I want to get there but (it's a case of) small building blocks and foundations have to be right and then we build on that."
The former Ipswich Town manager further revealed that his players are performing excellently on the training fields, which means that it is just a matter of time before they start getting the results in actual matches.
