The 30-year old hard-hitting batsman has been troubled by calf and hamstring problems this entire summer. He tried to dodge his injuries and kept on playing for Australia this summer before a time-out from the game remained his only option.
The Queensland-born cricketer has just touched his 30s but Arthur says that he is still regarded by him as an important member of the Australian setup.
Arthur revealed that he will be keeping a close eye on how Watson's comeback game goes and "then we can reassess where he is and hopefully get him back for the one-day comp."
"But I don't think we can put a time frame on that. We've got to be happy and he's got to be happy his body can sustain batting and bowling," he added.
